Join Catherine Annis for a week of unwinding and letting go in Santillan, a stunning new yoga retreat set above Malaga, in the Andalucian hillside, with glittering views across the Mediterranean. Featuring a state-of-the-art yoga studio, equipped with a full range of yoga props, bamboo floors and a yoga wall, this is a bright and beautiful space for our yoga practice.
Accommodation is in luxurious and spacious single or twin / double rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, and balconies or patios with views to the sea, or across the gardens.
Catherine teaches Scaravelli inspired yoga, a deep, strong yet subtle approach, which gradually helps us find a lighter, more supple way of moving. Together we will explore elements of the breath and the flow of gravity to reveal the natural freedom of the body, particularly the spine. Catherine is an attentive and thoughtful teacher, highly skilled at adapting poses, so that everyone leaves class feeling that they have made a fresh discovery about their yoga practice.

The Teacher
Catherine Annis is well known for her imaginative and practical approach to yoga. Originally a professional dancer, she discovered yoga as a teenager, and has been practicing for more than 35 years. Based in London, she teaches with care, humour and compassion, encouraging each attendee to trust and learn from their own personal explorations.

What can I expect from this retreat?
Retreats are a beautiful gift you can give yourself. They are designed to help you slow down, unwind and reset your energy levels, so you can return home feeling refreshed and inspired.
There are two generous yoga classes each day (except for the day off) which focus on anatomically intelligent practice, and include breath work, meditation, somatic movement inquiry and asana practice, with an occasional yoga nidra session. Enjoy three colourful vegetable-rich pescatarian Spanish meals a day, plus lots of Spanish treats and dessert! There is plenty of free time each day so you can take advantage of the in-house therapy team, who offer a range of massage treatments. Lie by the salt-water pool and catch up on your reading, swim, take a nap, or walk into the hills – whatever feeds your spirit. There is one day off (usually Thursday) with an option to explore Malaga or go on an excursion to one of the local villages or beaches, or stay at the retreat centre to enjoy some extra rest.
