Do you sometimes feel anxious or exhausted by the pressures of everyday life?
Would you like to be happier and have a greater sense of wellbeing?
Can mindfulness help, and what can we learn from the world’s wisdom traditions?
This unique 5-day Retreat combines the full Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, with an exploration of contemplative practices in the world’s wisdom traditions.
Mindfulness is a different way of living and being, which helps us connect with a sense of calm and clarity, even when things are difficult. This is not something you have to acquire – it’s already deep within you, waiting to be discovered.
During the programme you will learn techniques such as mindfulness of breath, body, movement, emotions, and thoughts, and how to cultivate compassion.
The course draws on the latest neuroscience and management research, which demonstrates that mindfulness has many benefits for individuals, organizations and society. These include stress reduction, wellbeing and resilience; better relationships, creativity and performance; and more caring and compassionate communities.
While MBSR itself is secular, the programme will also take time to consider the value of practices from Eastern, Western, Shamanic and Integral spirituality, through a series of optional evening sessions.
The course taught by qualified MBSR trainers Jean-Paul and Sally Jeanrenaud.
The fee includes 5 nights in a comfortable Retreat Centre, set in beautiful grounds, in single or shared accommodation, course materials, guided sessions, and all meals, from a Welcome Supper on the first evening through to lunchtime on the last day. You are invited to arrive in time for supper at 6pm on Friday 6th July. Non residential places are also available at a reduced rate.
