Puretieneryoga TTC is a yoga teacher training in which participants learn to teach yoga to teenagers aging 12 to 20, and to discover themselves through yoga. The perspective on the world of the teenager is central in dealing with the yoga exercises. Puretieneryoga TTC is set up from the tradition of Hatha Yoga; with study of yoga Asana's, Vedic Philosophy, Pranayama, Chakra theory, holistic anatomy and physiology, and meditation. The participant will gain insight into theoretical principles of yoga for teens and is being taught the knowledge- and skill set to teach teenagers yoga in a responsible way. In addition, this TTC's consists of developing insight into the anatomical and physiological aspects of the body of an adolescent, such as the development of the brains and the behavior resulting of the development of brain.
Each of the classes is themed by an element, on the basis of which Asanas and energy level/ behavior of teenagers are being addressed and discussed. Within the theme of each class the component mindfulness is also addressed. Mindfulness enables practitioners to choose to turn inwards to (learn to) listen to the voice of the heart. Being in the moment and from there on out making conscious choices how to deal with the NOW. Each class an elaborate themed lesson is provided in the course syllabus in which each component is in harmony with each other to form a complete Teen's Yoga class. The elaborated themed lessons are developed in line with the central theme of the class.
During the first five classes on one of the five basic elements according the Vedic Philosophy. All nine of the themed lessons are specifically aimed at young adolescents and have themes like: 'Prithvi (Earth)', 'Water Yoga Flow' (focused on the element Jala), 'Fire Yoga Flow' (directed to the element Agni), 'Air ' (focused on the element Vayu), 'Partner Yoga', 'Yoga and the menstrual cycle', 'Guiding and assisting through adjustment', 'Vinyāsa YogaFlows for Teens', 'Yin Yoga for Teens'. Participants learn to apply these themed lessons by experiencing themselves as a student, and as a (future) Teen's Yoga teacher.
Because the teenager is still in growth, both physically and mentally, teaching yoga to teenagers brings additional responsibilities. Puretieneryoga TTC is about learning to develop Teen's Yoga classes with a justified build up and teaching yoga to teens and young adults. Participants learn to apply ingredients like yoga exercises, breathing techniques, mindfulness, etcetera in a well-balanced Teen's Yoga class. During the TTC participants undergo and experience benefits and effects of the Asanas and other techniques themselves, and this way they learn how to activate and support teenagers with yoga. The Puretieneryoga TTC offers a base of knowledge and skills from the traditions of Hatha Yoga, Vinyāsa Yoga, Partner Yoga and Yin Yoga.
For teenagers it is important that they learn to deal with (new) physical, mental and spiritual aspects of their life and development. With Puretieneryoga TTC participants are able to help teenagers to connect with these aspects. Ingredients of classes are: warming-up, Yoga Asanas, Didactics, Chakra exercises, rituals such as seasonal celebrations, and breathing techniques, relaxation, Vedic Philosophy, theory, mindfulness, HeartFocus, and much more. Puretieneryoga TTC links these ingredients together into a whole.
