In the Purezwangerschapsyoga TTC participants learn to assist mothers and their partners in the course of their pregnancy and to prepare them for labor. The starting point is a natural birth from a holistic perspective on mother and child. Participants learn how to guide the parent(s) to bring them in contact with their child through yoga, pranayama and meditation. And through additional techniques such as HeartFocus, mindfulness and massage. Participants learn to show natural and conscious ways of being pregnant and giving birth, in which the interplay between mother and child are paramount.

Purezwangerschapsyoga TTC starts each year in the period of the 'moon of the wind', around the spring equinox. The thematic guideline of the classes during the course are the full moons and the energy that these represent or symbolize. These are connected to womanhood and fertility. Every class is named after the name of the moon from that period in the annual cycle. Each class an elaborated theme lesson is provided in the course syllabus in which each component is in harmony with each other and forms a complete Pregnancy Yoga class. The elaborated themed lessons are developed in line with the central theme of the class. Participants learn to apply these themed lessons by experiencing themselves as a student, and as a (future) Pregnancy Yoga teacher. Themed Lessons include for example: 'Speech', 'See', 'In connection with the partner' and 'Parent and child'.

Aim of the program is to develop and/or broaden skills with regard to dealing with pregnant women and unborn children with the techniques and methods of Yoga. Participants learn to develop Pregnancy Yoga classes and teach in a responsible an safe manner. The class starts with experiencing Asanas themselves during a yoga class. These exercises are practiced from the tradition of Hatha Yoga. Then the curriculum in didactic activating methods will be addressed and a themed lesson is being experienced.

For pregnant women and parents it is important that they learn to deal with (new) physical, mental and spiritual aspects of life and their development. In the Purezwangerschapsyoga TTC these aspects are being linked through yoga.

Ingredients of the classes of the TTC are:

*     Practicing Pregnancy Yoga with knowledge and backgrounds from the Hatha Yoga which are relevant to pregnant women;

*     Teaching skills and their application;

*     Applying meditation and mindfulness with Pregnancy Yoga;

*     Vedic Philosophy according to the Eightfold Path, applied for pregnant women;

*     Knowledge of the natural cycles and backgrounds of ancient rituals and seasonal festivities;

*     Holistic physiology and anatomy of the (pregnant) women and the unborn and newly born child;

*     Experiencing a themed lesson around a central theme relevant for pregnant women and the unborn child.
