Introduction to Teaching Pregnancy Yoga training

Learn how to confidently integrate Pregnant students into your classes

I am very excited to be offering this as I think it is much needed. This training is an Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga aimed at teachers / trainee teachers and/ or advanced practitioners who would like to understand how to safely and confidently integrate Pregnant students into their classes or how to adapt and change their own yoga practice to suit the changing needs of their Pregnant body.

Gain confidence, skills and knowledge to warmly welcome pregnant students into your yoga classes. In this introductory course with Lara Heppell you’ll learn how to guide and advise appropriately and adapt for needs at all stages of pregnancy.

Yoga is a fantastic tool to support women through their pregnancy, helping to prepare both body and mind for birth. We feel that it is really important that pregnant women have access to the power of yoga, especially if they cannot or choose not to attend dedicated pregnancy yoga classes. Having the tools as a teacher to help women become more aware and mindful of the changes going on during pregnancy and how these changes will influence their practice will allow pregnant students more accessibility to yoga.

Who is this course for

This course is for existing min 200 hour yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees or teachers considering becoming a fully accredited pregnancy yoga teacher in the future.

Yoga students with a dedicated practice who are thinking about getting pregnant or who are pregnant and would like to understand how best to support the changing needs of their body as they journey through pregnancy and beyond into motherhood are also welcome.

Who is Lara Heppell?

My Yoga Journey

Now a Senior Yoga teacher I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for thirteen years, teaching Pregnancy Yoga for ten of those 13 years.  Originally trained in dance, I discovered Dynamic yoga in 1998 and was hooked and went on to train as a Dynamic Yoga teacher with Godfrey Devereux, the founder of “Windfire Yoga”.

My additional study and credentials

In 2008 I furthered my yoga studies and travelled to the KYM in India to study yoga, philosophy and Vedic chanting .  I then went on to train in children’s yoga and Pre and Postnatal yoga and Well Woman Yoga therapy, most recently I have been drawn to studying and practising Somatic and Authentic Movement practices. My most influential teachers now are Uma Dinsmore Tuli , Judith Hanson Lasater , Angela Farmer, Liz Koch, Fabiano Cularo, Beverly Nolan and Tiffany Thorne. I’m also a registered Doula with four years experience and Mizan abdominal massage therapist assisting women at the birth of their babies and with their womb health .  I’ve undertaken extensive training in Restorative yoga and Hypnoyoga for birth too with the wonderful Janine Hurley.
