Overview

Vanessa guides a soulful flow with flex appeal. She has practiced yoga for over 20years, pursuing those delicious yet elusive moments of lightness, strength and calm. She loves seeing students find an unexpected release or strength She also loves those wobbles and falls, because those have been her best teachers, even though she might not have known at the time!

Her classes are about finding inner strength and outer liquid – when you combine the two you can feel so light and stable at the same time and it stays in your soul when you leave the class. It can be fleeting, but joy when found. Vanessa loves yoga because it’s maddening – you never master it, it’s always teaching you more. Some days you feel all stiff and stressed then have a wondrous practice, other days you feel really good, but your body doesn’t go where you thought it would go and you have to deal with it. As long as you can breathe and laugh then its food for your spirit.

Vanessa’s biggest influences so far have been Irene Wychrij, Jim Critchlow, Chrissie Gabbitas and Jo Ozden. She passed her Yoga Teacher Training foundation course with Sally Parkes in 2016, and also completed Core Strength Vinyasa yoga training in 2017, with further studies ongoing with Leslie Kaminoff and Anya Hawkes.

Her classes aim to stoke an inner fire and self confidence, unleash some expression, try some new shapes, and then take some delicious stretches before an indulgent chillax. All shapes, sizes, abilities can play along and enjoy the flow!

Vanessa also teaches restorative yoga and techniques specifically for weight trainers and figure/bikini athletes – these help release the lower back, find mind muscle connection – and help you recharge and relax.

Vanessa competes in natural bodybuilding and open water swimming, with quite a few trophies and medals in the bag. So her own physique changes a lot and she has had more than her fair share of injuries and soreness. She has learnt allot about rehab, patience and working with and stretching the body’s capabilities. If you have lower back soreness, then she sure knows how to soothe it!

PS Vanessa also owns ten billion pairs of yoga pants and can’t stop buying them ....
