Overview

Sara Jobling, the Founder and Director of YogaWellbeing, has been a qualified yoga teacher for 35 years. She began practicing yoga at the age of 19 while at college training to be a science teacher. While teaching biology in secondary schools she began training as an Iyengar yoga teacher and qualified at the age of 26. Sara has studied and worked with world-renowned yoga teacher and guru B.K.S Iyengar.

Originally, a biologist, Sara taught science and health education to A’ Level standard for 22 years and has worked as a health education specialist for the National Healthy Schools Award.

After teaching yoga part-time for 24 years I finally took a leap of faith and began my full-time yoga teaching and therapy business in May 2011. I have loved every day since. I am teaching what I love and it’s a great pleasure to watch my students get fitter and improve their healthy. Seeing my students transform into stronger, healthier, calmer people is a huge reward that gives a sense of satisfaction.

She is also a yoga personal trainer, qualified counselor and professional consultant and has lectured at universities in science, health and law. She has first class honours degrees in Education and Law and after undertaking post-graduate research, qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Health Education Management in 1996.

Sara is also one of a small number of qualified, professional yoga therapists working in the North East, having gained a Level III Professional Yoga Therapist qualification through the British School of Yoga. She has additional specialist training and qualifications in Yoga for Children and Young People and is trained and qualified with the Institute of Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs UK.

Now a qualified and experienced teacher Sara achieved Senior Yoga Teacher status in January 2019 and runs a 200 hours accredited Yoga Teacher Training Course.

    Yoga Flow, Primrose Village Community Centre, Jarrow

    As a man approaching 60 with a bad back, a chiropractor suggested that Yoga Flow was the best way forward and I found Sara's class at my local community centre. Sara very carefully sought to understand my back issues and the work I did. The class made perfect sence from day one and each class is fully directed. I nievely thought that yoga was sitting in funny positions making odd noises! Yoga Flow isn't! It's a great way to increase flexibility and mobility. I am now reaping the rewards of the weekly class. There are movements I can do that enable me to live life more fully and work more safely. Sara is extremely knowledgable, patient, understanding and non judgemental and certainly fills me with the feeling of someone who is supporting my efforts to gain the maximum benefit. As I've now passed being 60, I can honestly say that attending the Yoga Flow class has been a very wise use of time and I would recommend Sara and the class to anyone who will listen without any reservations.

    Flow Yoga Birtley

    I have been attending Sara Jobling's wonderful Yoga classes for almost 8 years now (my husband joined the class around 7 years ago). It's because of Sara's excellent teaching skills and enjoyable yoga classes that we keep returning. She is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced teacher who is is super friendly, welcoming, kind, considerate and has such a passion for teaching yoga. She pours her heart and soul into each class with such a lovely smile on her face, offering us all helpful advice, guidance, encouragement, some much needed wisdom and not forgetting a sprinkling of humour and fun along the way. She's an all round fantastic teacher and human being with a big heart.

    Birtley yoga class

    Attending Sara’s class is the highlight of my week . I have been coming to the classes for bout 7 years now . She caters for a range of abilities and treats everyone as an individual. She explains the anatomy behind each pose and the benefits of them. Each week , the class is varied and many styles of yoga are included making the classes interesting . I would highly recommend Sara’s classes to anyone , regardless of age or yoga ability.

    Blaydon Yoga Wellbeing

    I have been attending Sara's yoga classes for about 5 years and I am starting her yoga teacher training course. Sara is an excellent and supportive teacher. She gives highly experienced guidance and support to help me to develop my practice and skill set.
