Overview

After being drawn to yoga in 2011 to help minimise the physical effects of an exciting but stressful career, long daily commute, international travel, as well as regular high intensity gym sessions, I was quickly amazed at the impact the practice had on both my body and mind.

Yoga completely redefined my relationship with fitness.

I always believed weights and cardio were the only ways to get fit and look toned but these activities, while beneficial and enjoyable, can be tough on the body. Regular yoga practise has not only helped me build muscle strength, tone and flexibility, it has also dramatically reduced the number of aches and pains I get from regular gym work alone.

More profound though, were the mental benefits. The guidance and meditation provided in classes allowed for much needed headspace, creating calm and relaxation in an otherwise hectic 24/7 life.

At the end of 2015, I took a step back from the high flying world of corporate crisis management and enrolled in the 200hr Yogahaven teacher training course, qualifying as a Vinyasa Flow yoga teacher at the beginning of 2016.

I am passionate about teaching dynamic, flowing classes that challenge students to work to their comfortable maximum. An adrenaline junkie at heart (runner, climber, gym rat), I bring enthusiasm and energy to all my classes, while also honouring the mindful exploration of postures (asana) and connection with the breath (pranayama).

My teaching style is encouraging and supportive and my intention in every class is to help students develop and enjoy their own personal practise.

See you on the mat!
