Chris has been practising yoga for over 10 years; it began as he progressed into more senior positions in Primary Education where Chris soon realised the improvement in his mental well-being as a result of movement, meditation and breath. Regular practice allowed Chris to take his experiences off the mat and into school; it helped create mental clarity and calmness; increased body awareness; relieved professional stress patterns and relaxed the mind, centred attention and sharpened concentration. Yoga has profoundly changed Chris' outlook and he actively approaches his role as Headteacher from a place of compassion.
Having spent 30 years in Primary Education Chris is highly skilled at storytelling, adding magic, awe and wonder whilst infusing asana into teaching sessions.
Chris also has a passion for cold water swimming, focusing the mind through breath-work when immersing into extremes enabling a holistic approach to well-being, reducing stress, improving sleep and boosting energy levels.
Chris has completed a transformational 300 hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training course studying under Senior Teacher Catia Leite at SPACE Yoga Studio in Brighton and 35 hour Yin TT with Senior Teacher Louise Windsor at The Yoga Garden. His classes are varied and are accessible for all levels. Chris likes to bring some fun and uplifting energy into his classes and takes you through a moving meditation: an energising flow, gently warming up, building strength and heat, stretching deeply with a Nidra style Savasana. Chris likes to follow a theme incorporating the 5 Elements and deep relaxation into his Yin Yoga classes allowing students to find their edge, find stillness and drop into their bodies.
