I was introduced to yoga in 2009 in Senegal where I was living and working at the time. A Canadian yoga teacher offered free classes in Dakar and after my first session I was hooked. Back in the Netherlands I participated in a Hatha yoga classes and practised yoga wherever I traveled. From Bogota to Bali and Baghdad, Amman, Paris, Sydney, New York, one can practise yoga together without speaking the same language. Yoga connects.
In 2017 I organised yoga sessions in Baghdad, Iraq, while working for a humanitarian organisation. I did my 200 hours Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training with YogaUnion in Ubud in March 2018 and continued to teach yoga in Baghdad. After settling in the UK and having a baby daughter during the Covid pandemic I am now keen to support pregnant mothers and mums who have given birth through yoga to love and work with the changing body.
