Yoga has been a part of my life for over 40 years now, and I love to pass on the love that I have for my practice.
My first experience of yoga was Richard Hittleman's TV program back in the 1970s! My first proper real-life teacher was Julie, who was a Sivananda trained teacher in Balham. I went to her classes weekly for a few years, and what I learned from her forms a foundation for my teaching.
I trained to be a teacher with the Claire Weatherley Yoga School, and could not have hoped for a better teacher than Claire. Proper, in depth traditional yoga teaching, which suited me and my philosophy perfectly. From her and another great teacher, Liane Ferreira (at Cafe Mila studio, Godalming), I learned the Iyengar yoga style.
I have trained as meditation teacher with Swami Saradananda. This has added a whole new dimension to my practice, and I'm enjoying passing on what I have learned.
I have also travelled three times to Rishikesh, India with Liane and a group of yogis to stay on an ashram. This has been a totally life-transforming experience for me, and has vitally informed my teaching.
My Monday yoga group has been going for a while now, and classes are from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at St Mark's Community Centre, Franklyn Road, Godalming.
Until recently I taught a corporate group for a well known London law firm every Wednesday, but these days I teach just once a week and focus on my own practice the rest of the week.
