Overview

After years of practising Yoga, Claire noticed that she began to enquire more and more about the whole practice of Yoga. It indeed is so much more than the asana.

Spending time at the Sivananda Centre in Putney confirmed her passion to learn more. Unable to take a month off work and study in Austria she decided to do her teacher training at The Yoga Garden in Storrington (a little closer to home). Taught by inspirational teachers such as Toni Roberts and Marcella Wakeman, both having very different styles but both absolutely resonated within Claire's being. A mix of beautiful vinyasa, mindfullness and somatic- awareness.

Claire's classes will not involve any acrobatics!  Claire believes "yoga is about balancing emotions. Practicing positive thinking and meditation makes it less likely that you will be affected by negative emotions and the lifestyle choices they lead to. But it is easier to meditate and think positively if you first pay attention to the body, practicing yoga asanas, or postures, pranyama, or breathing, and relaxation. You can also support your health by eating well.

Purifying the body, cultivating steadiness, prana then moves freely, nourishing, healing and integrating the body and mind."

Claire is now teaching at Highcliffe Castle, Hampshire, on Monday evenings, and at The Meeting Place in Westbourne, West Sussex on Thursday and Friday evenings. All classes are open to all abilities . Promoting a yoga is for everybody attitude.
