Overview

200hrs Yoga Teacher Training with Ann-Marie Mainprize, Hull. 16 hrs Yoga Therapy for back pain, 16 hrs Functional Anatomy with Jambo Truong. Sports Massage Therapy.

The human body is fascinating and I am deepening my knowledge of human anatomy and physiology through a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy.

At various times in my life I have embraced the different benefits that yoga has to offer. As a keen runner I use it to improve my core strength, stretch my muscles and improve my breathing, in order to enable me to remain injury free.

As a secondary school teacher I used the power of yoga meditation, pranayama and relaxation techniques to help me unwind and switch off, sometimes this is more challenging than an advanced asana!

Therefore, my passion lies with using yoga to heal. Whether mentally or physically; yoga benefits everyone from the young to the elderly, the athletic to the infirm. I truly believe every single person can benefit from practising yoga.

My classes are restricted to a maximum of 12 people. We focus on a mixture of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow yoga practice as well as yoga Nidra and restorative yoga to aid relaxation. The emphasis is placed on alignment and modifications and a pain free range of movement to allow people of all abilities to participate within a class environment. These classes are an ego-free zone.

Each session uses meditation techniques, breath awareness, a variety of asanas, and relaxation. The purpose of which is to empower my students to improve their physical and mental well-being.

I also offer 1-2-1 sessions for those who or small group sessions for those who feel intimidated by the class environment or prefer to spend more time learning the foundations of each pose.
