Overview

As a palliative care nurse with a degree in physiology, and a doctorate in caring for dying patients and their families, I have a passion for nursing and for facilitating the very specific learning for nurses, doctors, therapists and volunteers in the NHS.  I now use all of the skills I have learnt with regard to education alongside my knowledge of yoga and current teacher training to facilitate weekly yoga classes.  I love teaching and working with my yoga students to help them achieve their aims for the session and realise the benefits of a regular yoga practice.

I began my own journey 12 years ago.  After starting Iyengar yoga at my local leisure centre, I quickly found I loved the peace and quiet, and the time to concentrate on my own body, breathing and the ability to find balance and restoration on the mat.

I have undertaken my yoga teacher training (250 hours) at Sam Rao Yoga School where the emphasis is on understanding the anatomy and physiology of the body and remedial yoga.  This is yoga that is inclusive of all and aims to work with individuals medical conditions.  My aim is that class participants feel better in themselves by the end of the class.

I am a firm believer in the need for compassionate communities.  It is a rare thing if any of us are unaffected by loss and bereavement.

For all of us
“Within stillness and space we can work out what it is we feel and what it is that we may want to do next” - Ruth Allen.

I look forward to seeing you in class.....
