Overview

Amy, AKA Green Bean Yogi, is a West Yorkshire based yoga teacher and enthusiast! She offers group classes both online and in person in various locations, as well as one to ones and a variety of workshops.

Amy's yoga journey began in High School when an experienced yoga teacher came in to offer classes to students. Having previously been interested in dance and gymnastics, the fluid movement and strength building poses of the class really appealed, pair that with a chance to relax and unwind and get more in touch with the body and she was sold!

She went on to attend regular classes in a wide variety of styles and disciplines, eventually joining the Yoga Society at University, getting more involved in Yoga retreats and events.

It had always been a dream to be a teacher and pass on her passion for yoga, however, working life always seemed to get in the way. When an opportunity arose to train with renowned teacher trainer, Jamie Blowers, an Alumni of Larry Schultz, Amy seized the moment! Going on to study and train for more than a year with Jamie to gain a 200 hour Yoga Teacher qualification, Amy specialised in Ashtanga Vinyasa. The powerful and vigorous style of yoga being a balm to her otherwise sedentary office worker life.

Green Bean Yogi was born! And is now dedicated to sharing her passion for yoga with everyone and anyone who is willing to listen. Truly a proponent of the message 'Yoga is for everybody', Amy is also committed to making Ashtanga, an often intimidating and athletic seeming style of Yoga, available to anyone and everyone, no matter their experience or ability.

With regular practice, everyone can feel the benefits of Yoga and honing the mind body link in order to really understand what your body needs.

Yoga serves the body, not vice versa, and looking after your body through physical exercise doesn't need to be punishment! It can be a liberating and validating experience and also a whole lot of fun!

Really love Amy’s yoga sessions! Amy runs workshops at our workplace and they’ve been so great for everyone’s wellbeing, particularly after being sat at desks all day! She does a great job of catering to different ability levels and making everyone feel included like they’re 1-1 sessions. Definitely makes us feel calm, stretched & refreshed after a hard day’s work!

I started coming to yoga to get some exercise and start getting fitter, and I have enjoyed every class. Amy is considerate of all ability levels, and offers different options to allow you to progress and get the best out of yourself. She is encouraging and thorough in her instruction offering helpful corrections and workshops to improve on the most challenging poses. I came into yoga not thinking it was for me, and Amy’s classes and teaching style had made me believe in myself, my abilities and turned me into a dedicated student.
