I first stepped onto a yoga mat back in 2007, after moving from Australia to the UK. Looking to ease the stress of my job as a Structural Engineer and a recurring back injury, I was immediately hooked after the first class. Initially I was drawn to the physical benefits, but quickly started to realise that yoga is so much more than just a practice, it’s a complete lifestyle.
In 2013, after several years of regular practice at the Richmond Yoga Centre, I was invited to train with them as a hot yoga teacher. I taught with RYC for over three years and when the studio closed last year, I continued to organise “pop-up” classes to ensure there was a space for the community to meet.
Over the last few years I started to explore and practice Vinyasa and I completed Stewart Gilchrist’s 200hr Yogasana teacher training in January 2018.
I am a strong advocate of practice what you preach. I use elements from my personal practice to influence my classes with an emphasis on alignment and technique, whilst keeping it light-hearted, joyful and supportive. I believe that one of the most important things in life is to keep your body moving and that yoga should be accessible to everyone.
