Overview

Rob’s corporate career in finance left him seeking and wanting more than just soulless spreadsheets, glossy presentations and complex cash flows.

He knew he had to slow down and become more present and aware of his body, mind and speech. He began his search for equanimity and balance and tried yoga on various occasions, but it was not until he entered the welcoming doors of two separate but related schools of yoga- Sangye and Vikasa- that he understood what passion and love for yoga really were.

Rob completed 400 hours of yoga training. Two hundred hours under the watchful eye of Kostas Miachin, the founder of the Vikasa Yoga school in Thailand and two hundred hours in Vinyasa Ashtanga with Cat Alip- Douglas at the Sangye school in London, where he also apprenticed.

Yoga became an outlet to build strength both emotionally and physically helping him to work through daily life challenges. Along with helping to nourish his thirst for movement and personal inquiry, it awakened a passion for becoming a teacher and share the benefits of practicing yoga with others. He strives to inspire and cultivate curiosity in his students, encouraging them to dive deep and explore the body, its patterns, strengths and weaknesses.

He weaves in precise and clear alignment principles and cues, breath work and flowing movement through his teaching. His sequencing is smartly crafted allowing for growth and vigorous challenge, while assisting students throughout the practice to make poses doable using hands-on adjustment and props, breath and by finding balance between effort and effortlessness.

Rob is a co-founder of Westway Yoga Kolektiv Dana | WYKD (pronounced ‘wicked’) a non-profit community yoga project aimed at providing yoga and meditation to the local community. WYKD mission is to create an inclusive and safe space for West London community to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of yoga practice.
