I have been a physiotherapist for the past 18 years and practising yoga for the last 15 of these. Physiotherapy has given me extensive knowledge of the human body and how to strengthen it and protect it against injury while yoga has given me the skills to tune into my body and listen to to it on a deeper level. When I first started yoga it was very much a physical journey with the aim of getting stronger and more flexible. As I have fallen more deeply in love with yoga it has helped to deepen my understanding of myself. Yoga is for all abilities and all bodies and I fully believe that everyone is able to get something out of their practice. This may be better physical health, improved relaxation and a sense of calm, a deeper spiritual connection or more understanding of your own individual needs. Yoga equips you with the tools to live a happy and balanced life and there is no better time to start your journey.
