My relationship with yoga began many years ago. Initially I used yoga as a fitness tool to stretch off after training sessions, but I soon started to find myself on the mat more and more often. It was whilst living in New Zealand that I finally became hooked on yoga. On returning to the UK I continued to teach in a secondary school as a French and German teacher, but after 15 years in education I decided it was time for a change. I then trained as a yoga instructor specialising in Vinyasa Flow but my interest incorporates many styles of yoga. During the course I developed a fascination with the philosophy and history of yoga, which offer an antidote to today’s technology driven, hectic and often solitary world, but, coming from a sporting background myself, it is the anatomy of yoga that keeps me coming back to my mat. I feel blessed to have found yoga as it has made a profound difference to my life; I am stronger (both physically and mentally) more patient, tolerant and have found balance in my life.
