Overview

I have been committed to my yoga practice for the past 30 years. Ten years ago I completed British Wheel of yoga teacher training foundation year, then in October 2019 I began the year long Kundalini Yoga teacher training course and I am now qualified to teach. Last year whilst redeployed at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital in my NHS job (I am an Occupational Therapist) I was teaching Yoga at Chesterfield Royal Hospital in the Hartington inpatient Unit for people with Mental Health conditions.

Since November 2020, once I was fully qualified, I have regularly been teaching weekly Kundalini Yoga with Helen classes online through the Sheffield Art House over zoom and I have been teaching some informal one to one session in person.

Kundalini yoga is known as the yoga of awareness.  It involves spiritual, mental and physical practice. I love the vast range of kriyas (sets of postures) which, along with the beautiful meditations and mantras have had a profound impact on me. The combination of movement, chanting, breath work and meditation together elevate your conscious awareness; these three elements also help you to connect to your inner self and provide a deeper understanding of mind and body and spirit. I want to share my experiences and through teaching Kundalini Yoga, I aim to serve and help others to discover this transformative practice and feel nourished and balanced.
