Overview

Karen has over 25 years of teaching experience in her previous role as a primary school teacher and is currently employed by the University of Hull as a tutor and lecturer training the next generation of primary school teachers.

Exercise has always been an important part of Karen’s life, from competing and representing the county in trampolining in her youth to triathlons and long distance cycle events during her adult years. Karen has practiced yoga at various times in her life and something she always comes back to. More recently yoga has become a way of life using regular home and class based practices to keep her supple, maintain muscle tone and to find balance and mental stability in her hectic lifestyle.

Karen is a mother of three children and understands the complexities of growing, delivering and nurturing a baby. It is a time of transition, change and perhaps uncertainty when many feelings, emotions and sensations may arise. Karen would like to use her training to nurture and bring a sense of community to ladies, their babies and their partners through yoga classes and workshops. Using relaxation and pranayama (breathing techniques) and asana (physical movements and poses) to help strengthening the body, relieve common pregnancy and postpartum ailments and to promote mental and physical well-being and balance at this very special time of our lives.
