Overview

Hello, I’m Sarah-May.

Growing up in the bohemian North East Coast of Australia was a great introduction to sustainability, longevity and exploring wellness both within and without. I’ve always had a curious nature and am never afraid to put myself out there to learn new things.

I moved to London when I was 19 to study opera at the Guildhall of Music and Drama, (and attained an extensive comprehension of the mechanics of breath control!) and when I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in my early 20’s it was yoga that helped me manage my symptoms and navigate the stresses of everyday life more meaningfully.

By 2016 yoga was such an integral part of my life I committed to do my teacher training and when I snapped my right finger off, I was forced to halt my asana practice completely and focus on deep healing. It was a great blow to the ego but the beginning of a deeper understanding of the practice, and although I still can’t hold a handstand to this day, I understand that I don’t need to.

Gratefully I was strong enough to complete my first 200-hour teacher training in 2020 with my long-time teacher Marcus Veda. I have since completed a further 100 hours in Rocket Yoga and Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha trainings with Stewart Gilchrist. In addition, I have been fortunate enough to practice with some incredible teachers of many styles all over the world in the last 15 years; Dharma Mittra in New York, Mysore with Kamal Singh in Rishikesh, Iyengar and anatomy extraordinaires Caludia Dossena & Christian di Giorgio, and the inimitable Rocket Queen Amme Poulton.

I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learnt with anyone who will listen. It’s a journey that starts with a small step on the path, often with a question, and that continues to teach every day.  What’s your question?
