I love Yoga! One of the best things about Yoga is that everyone can practice in a way and to a level that suit their personal needs.
I first attended Yoga classes in 1999 and within a year or so I knew that I had to spend more time practising this amazing, life transforming, way to be.
I spent two years following the Friends of Yoga Society International Diploma course, training with one of their Senior Yoga Teachers in Ealing. Having graduated in November 2004 I began teaching cover classes and set up two of my own classes to begin my experience as a Teacher. Very soon after this my husband was offered a job in Sweden and we, including my two daughters all moved to Stockholm where we lived for 5 years. During this time I had the joyous privilege to teach Yoga to the many different nationalities of friends that I had made from the expat community that I was connected with. I taught in my own home and gained valuable experience in my first few years as a qualified teacher.
Upon our return to the UK in 2010, I began to find my place, as a Yoga Teacher, in the area surrounding Virginia Water, where we had settled. Gradually, I beganto build up my classes initially in Walton-on-Thames followed by classes in Virginia Water, Old Windsor, Englefield Green, Egham, Sunninghill, Chertsey, Ascot and Lyne. During this time I set up my own Website 'Victoria James Yoga , www.victoriajamesyoga.com and slowly but surely acquired a following of people who enjoyed my style of teaching. I now teach between 8 - 10 classes per week and I have found that this is just perfect for finding that work/family balance.
I am so grateful to have found this way to be. To be helping people to feel welcome in a yoga class, to help them find a quick way to relieve an aching body and/or to learn new skills to be able to calm a stressed anxious mind and to generally feel excited and happy to attend my classes. To hear someone say that they "love my classes" and that they "finally feel no pain" in their body at the end of the class is job satisfaction at its finest. I continually strive to include everyone in my classes and make them feel at ease and welcome.
Outside of Yoga I am interested in supporting my family, meeting new people, gardening and enjoying seeing the astonishing way nature is always changing and renewing.
Whenever you feel down, just get yourself outside and observe what is going on in the sky, the woods, the river and countryside. When you look closely, it is too stunning to believe!!!
