My special interest is in yoga that helps heal from and prevent injury, and in keeping mobile throughout life. I am a firm believer that yoga can help everyone, once they have decided to try it. I am especially interested in lower back health and injury recovery and prevention, and teaching how to increase your own body awareness.
I trained in the UK at Sam Rao's school in Berkshire, as Sam is very knowledgeable about the body and how it works, and how yoga can enrich life and prolong good health.
Previously I lived in Los Angeles for 22 years and studied yoga there.
I absolutely love introducing people to yoga, and teaching it. My best moments are when I see something click with a student (and I don't mean a knee or back click!), when they suddenly "get" or really understand a pose and its benefits.
I know that yoga can suffer from images of ladies sitting on the floor going "om", or lithe young people in brightly coloured lycra doing acrobatic contortions. I want people to understand and accept their own bodies and just be the best they can be, and feel the best they can, on any given day.
It is something you can do everywhere, without lots of equipment, and tailor your practice to you and what you need on any given day. I have been through injuries from many sports, and yoga is the complete mind-body enriching experience.
