Overview

I am a fifty something life long career girl, and mum of two wonderful teenage children and have a very supportive husband! After running myself into the ground, physically and mentally, working ridiculous hours running my own business for seven years, and losing my mum to Alzheimers, I took the decision in 2016 to change my life.

I had to make all my staff redundant, and fundamentally change the way I run my business so it is much less stressful.

I also took the decision to train as a yoga teacher. I met the amazing Wenche Krag Beard at Yoga Life Studio, Eastbourne - my inspiration to become a teacher - about 4 years ago, and she gave me the confidence to take the plunge.

In the first instance, this was to teach myself yoga. Having suffered in the past from depression and anxiety - and because I had neglected my health and wellbeing for seven years - I hoped to heal myself initially, and had no real expectations of actually teaching others.

Once I started the course, my fascination with yoga's history and potential as a way to live life and find peace deepened. It was really hard work, and I learnt so much, and met so many wonderful people. Eva Kristlova from Yoga Life Studio who supports the TT course is an amazing teacher, and inspires me to be a better human being every time I spend time with her. My fellow teacher trainees have become a massive source of support and inspiration. We have all had our highs and lows, and overcome them together.

In September last year,  once the theory was finished, I decided the only way to really learn was to start teaching.

I designed a 10 week beginners course, and invited friends to sign up. 6 completed the course, and both they and I have learnt a lot. For some, it has been life changing, and they have all brought yoga into their lives and enjoyed the benefits that brings.

At the  moment, I am teaching alongside my day job, so I do small, intimate classes in my own home for up to three students. I am hoping do some larger workshops with my fellow yogini TTs as well as with my Eastbourne teachers this year and see how that goes.

I am passionate about yoga and the benefits it is bringing into my life, and I know yoga will be in my life always now.  Passing yoga on is a gift that I am proud to be able to give.
