In 1992 he traveled to India and completed a teacher training at the Patanjali Yoga center in Nepal. One year later he began running classes in Byron Bay Australia. Returning to England in 1994, he began his Iyengar teacher training, successfully graduating in 1996.

Informed by his study and practice of Yoga and Buddhism, and his desire to vitalize practice, Jim uses the tools of Yoga to fund a sense of understanding and engagement of life.

Jim runs drop-ins, courses, one to one's, workshops and specialist training sessions in the UK area and retreats and holidays worldwide with his co-owned company Yoga Explorers.

His popular classes are known for their humour, humanity and depth.

Jim devised and runs the Vajrasati teacher training program and has written the main content for the community’s website. He also writes monthly for the site’s newsletter.

    teacher review

Jim is an excellent teacher in many ways, he is kind and considerate, he listens and responds, he shows the way and is always present, he is deep and thoughtful, he is wise and a master in his field. His classes are a journey which always surprise and delight; I recommend Jim if you like to know what it means to be a yogi in the true sense of the word, and to have a great class at the same time.

    Vajasati Yoga Teacher Training

I stumbled across one of Jims classes a few years ago and it completely changed the the way or the direction I was practising yoga. Jim is truly an inspirational, knowledgable teacher and guide who's love for the practice of yoga is evident in his classes and teacher trainings.
