One of the issues raised the most at class is that of neck , shoulder and back pain and stiffness . In todays world we spend so much time hunched over desks , computers , phones , tablets etc that we are not getting the exercise we need in the neck , shoulders and back – and we are becoming stiff , hunched and in pain . In this 2 hour workshop we look at some of the causes of neck , shoulder and back problems . We shall also practice exercises and postures to relieve tension before going on to yoga postures to strengthen these areas and to protect them . We shall look at advice as to how to avoid common injuries to these areas in class and spend some time looking at back bends , back strengthening exercises and how to back bend safely . No prior knowledge of yoga is required but would be useful .
