Tensed, stuck, painful, restricted, knotted, tight? If that is how your body feels, this may just be the workshop to the rescue.

How do we deal with tension and tightness in the body? Weakness in parts of our body, especially the back, needs strengthening. A lack of flexibility in our body, especially in the upper back or hamstrings, may require a degree of stretching to increase the Range of Movement (ROM). Where there is increased tension in the body, be it chronic or temporary, neither strengthening nor stretching poses will help in such cases. Active release practice, which applies a mixture of conscious movement and still poses, promotes greater freedom of movement, giving you a sense of space from the inside out.

In this experiential workshop, Adelene will share her understanding and experience of the causes, recognition of symptoms, and finally how to manage and release tension. We will explore poses that promote the undoing, dismantling, and releasing of tension and tightness in the area with reduced prana (i.e. feels stuck). When the body feels free and spacious, the breath and energetic body may fully express its potential, restoring health and vitality in the process.

Leave with a feeling of lightness, openness, buoyancy, fluidity, feeling energized, suppleness, resilience, freedom, and spaciousness.

Suitable for all levels practitioners. Teachers and body workers welcome.
