This special Samhain (pronounced Sow-en) Candlelit Workshop will celebrate a time half way between the Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice that marks the end of harvest time ahead of welcoming in the darker winter months. It’s a time for thanksgiving, of death and rebirth; a time to reflect, give thanks, recharge and renew. A perfect time to dream and drift.

In this workshop we will really focus in on Yoga practices that encourage a calm mind and more relaxed body, helping to improve the quality and ease of our sleep.

Our focus for this session will be on ways we can create more balance, working with Yoga techniques and breathing practices that encourage us to get more grounded in our bodies helping to calm the nervous system to promote deeper sleep. We will combine carefully crafted flowing asana and breath work with deep restorative poses to unwind the body (from the inside out), release deep rooted tensions, relax the mind and invite us to fully let go.

In the Ayurvedic world, Autumn is a very vata season and we need to slow things down, take our time to move and breathe and live. Creating simple rituals and routines can be really helpful at this time of year and this workshop will provide you with some simple tools you can take away to use at home in your own practice. It will provide us with a welcoming space in which to take some time out of our busy lives to be with other women to breathe, relax, nurture, ground and balance ourselves with the vital practices of Well Woman Womb Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Delicious treats, revitalising essential oils and warm chai and chat will all be on offer.

The workshop is suitable for women of all ages and stages of life, including complete beginners to yoga. Some lovely treats will be provided at the end of our session and we will wrap up with a long deep restful Restorative yoga sequence and Yoga Nidra practice.

Handouts will be provided outlining some of the techniques covered during the workshop; including:

- Pre-bedtime rituals and routines to promote good sleep

- A short, relaxing yoga sequence incorporating gentle movements that you can do before bedtime.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring extra layers for warmth (an extra blanket and perhaps even a cushion would also be great!) for the relaxation part of our session.
