Backbends are invigorating, uplifting they open the heart, bring flexibility into the spine, tone the secondary organs of the body and work along the central nervous system.  They are uplifting and increase vitality and wellbeing.

New levels of energetic freedom and openness are available when a fuller range of motion in the spine is accessed, and the chest area (heart) is opened.

Backbends are Warrior 1, Cobra, Sphinx, Upward Dog, Camel, Bow, Locust, Bride and the Wheel,  Learn how to work safety in these asanas, learn the principles of how to build up to backbends, how to protect your back and stability the body using the band has, alignment and even props where necessary.

 

You will work through a progression of poses, and these will be demonstrated using different bodies, shapes and sizes so you can see how to adapt poses to suit you. There will also be lots of opportunity to ask questions and get specific feedback.  

 You will have the opportunity to explore from a psychological aspect how to release your fears and challenge yourself and most of all have fun on this information workshops.
