OVERVIEW

Welcome the energy of spring into your spine by visiting the articulations of the spine. And welcome the energy of fun because it’s time to get together again. 

After too long apart, Jambo is excited to return to Edinburgh to share his blend of meditation, asana practice, self bodywork and ceremony. 

The structures located along the spine create something akin to core stability for the spine. By re-visiting and spring cleaning these articulations we are able to free up the spine bringing extra space or stability into the spaces that need it.

These workshops focus on therapeutic backbends and self bodywork to increase breathing capacity in back bending poses.

WHO IS THIS WEEKEND FOR?

For yoga practitioners and teachers of any asana style or lineage. As a multi-level class, there will be various levels for each practitioner. This weekend is suited for those who wish to use yoga to manage back pain.

WHAT THE WEEKEND COVERS

Each day is split into a morning session of ceremony and meditation followed by an asana practice.


In the afternoon we explore hands on assists and bodywork that is specifically related to balancing spaciousness and stability within the spine. 


The content evolves over the weekend, though you can drop into individual sessions also. 


Sat 5 March

10am-12.30/1pm Ceremony, meditation & asana practice with a focus on therapeutic backbends to stabilise the spine.

2.30-5pm 

Abdominals & digestion: the front lever of the spine

This session is a self-bodywork session where practitioners will learn self-palpation techniques to free up the muscles of the intrinsic and external core. Part 1 of abdominal organ massage will be covered.

Part 1 of abdominal organ work involves a routine that focuses on down regulation of Bergius system and enabling coherent relationships between the abdominal organs. Coherence between these structures brings balance to digestive system health.

Sun 6 March

10am-12.30/1pm Ceremony, meditation & asana practice with a focus on therapeutic backbends to strengthen the lower back.

2.30-5pm 

Dive deeper into abdominal organ massage by exploring techniques from East Asian organ system known as Anmo Fu. Coupled with some self-a to pressure sequences to manage the less preferred part of eating - bloating.

This practical workshop also offers additional methods to manage the causes of bloating.
