Healing the Whole Person is a mindful, whole-person approach to yoga for people affected by cancer
If you're looking for a way to evolve your skill set, develop a specialism or deepen your understanding of yoga, the Healing the Whole Person teacher training will provide you with in-depth knowledge of how yoga and mindfulness can help people to live better.
Healing the Whole Person is a heart-led, mindful approach to yoga for cancer, which means that it's based on the concepts of compassion and empathy and integrates the Buddhist mindfulness worldview. Mindfulness can be practised alongside yoga, or integrated into the practice, providing the practitioner with an accessible resource for coping with the physical and mental effects of cancer, diagnosis and treatment. Therapeutic applications of yoga enable the practitioner to increase their body awareness befriend the body, manage pain and strengthen the immune system, to name just a few benefits.
You will learn to:
create unique holistic Yoga practices for the individual on the cancer journey
integrate people with cancer into your regular classes
design courses for groups and individuals on the cancer journey
apply Mindfulness concepts and techniques to your Yoga teaching
This course is structure to engage and nurture all learning styles, with a focus on experiential learning.

You will assimilate the course content in a way that is meaningful and grounded in experience.
Participants are encouraged to explore their own responses to life threatening illness and end-of-life. We’ll use Yoga props to recreate some of the physical movement restrictions that patients often suffer. Through this and other course elements, you’ll be encouraged in your own personal transformation towards an embodied understanding of the person with cancer.

When you have completed the course, you will have the confidence to share Yoga and Mindfulness with anyone on the cancer journey
