Overview

My yoga journey started after my first trip to Alaska to visit family in 2009. The absolute presence and awareness I felt in such a beautiful place made me feel like I wanted to re-create that presence anywhere. I've always been interested in the natural environment and it was great to re-create that feeling of being in nature through yoga.

The 'asanas' simply weren't enough for me and it was during classes with my teacher Shelby in Austin, Texas that I really developed an interest in yoga philosophy and the deeper meanings behind the series of asanas. I moved to the UK in 2018 and really missed classes with Shelby in my first couple of years here. When the opportunity presented itself during the pandemic to do an online 100-hour deeper studies programme in Power Yoga with Shelby and Leah, I took it! It was through this programme that I started to realise how much I would love to teach and hopefully inspire others in the same way that I was inspired by the teachers and community at Bfree Yoga in Austin.

I found a local studio where I live that was offering a teacher training to start in a few weeks time (it was meant to be). After my first visit to the studio, I instantly felt hOMe. This journey was incredible, beyond words.

I received a 100-hour certificate in Power Yoga followed by my 200-hours through the Yomala vinyasa training at Yoga x Life. I do love a variation of power yoga that is slower and introduces more of the philosophy compared to traditional power yoga. I currently teach a sunrise vinyasa class on a Wednesday morning and I love being able to see how two different energies in a 7am class come together beautifully through a flow that caters to all.
