Karen has been leading inspirational classes in the UK since 2006. She has a unique ability to naturally inspire a deeper understanding of the flow of breath, movement and the mindful connections of yoga.
Karen’s practice began with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 1999, where she experienced first-hand the healing power of Yoga in dealing with her own chronic back pain from an old injury. After several years of daily Ashtanga Yoga practice she became so inspired by Yoga she took a break from her career in television in 2005 and travelled to India to continue her yoga studies and in 2006 Karen qualified as a certified Yoga Teacher with Yoga Arts. She then decided to leave her career in the media world to follow her heart and share yoga.
At that time, Karen was based in South East London and founded Dulwich Yoga Space where she taught Yoga classes in schools, therapy rooms, church halls and clinics as well as Yoga in the Workplace at the BBC, MoD, Farrers & Co & BA.
Karen returned to India every year to continue her studies in Yoga until her son was born in 2011 and thereafter, she carried on her learnings with teachers located in the UK. Her teachings have evolved over the years, grounded in many hours of study and trainings in Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Yoga for Long Covid with renowned teachers such as John Scott, Emil Wendle, Julie Martin, Richard Freeman, Gingi Lee & Melanie Cooper and many more.
She continues to develop infusing the different schools of Yoga to give a rounded class reflecting the best of all the schools of yoga she continues to study.
Her style of teaching is light-hearted and playful, focusing on moving with awareness, listening to the subtle messages of the body, calming of the mind, rest and relaxation.
Karen now resides in Sussex, just outside Eastbourne, with her partner and son where she teaches local group classes and classes via zoom as well as run and host workshops.
