Is it a scam? Is it too good to be true
Tapping is gaining huge momentum and is used in combination with the fields of psychotherapy even by the NHS.
It is also used as an entirely separate, stand-alone therapy and second to none for home use, there when you really need it. But how does this therapy actually work? Here yoga therapist, pain specialist and EFT practitioner Simone Moir brings light to this technique.
The beauty of this self-help method lies in its simplicity. It's not applied to you, free and accessible. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) gives you your power back. I teach you the first step right here, so read on and try it out.
I often felt weighed down by the stories and emotions my clients shared with me in my practice as a yoga therapist. On the lookout for protection, I stumbled upon EFT, which I’ve now used and shared for nearly two decades.
I personally found EFT to be an essential support whilst going through a break-up and coping as a mother of two boys. EFT gave me a fast, free and effective self-therapy for staying sane and open. As it only takes minutes, I initially did it every time I went to the loo, just so as not to give up - no joke! It was easy and I was soon able to soothe and fill my energy reservoirs.

What is it based on?
EFT breathes fresh air into the healing process by borrowing from the Chinese meridian system. While acupuncture, acupressure and the like have primarily focused on physical ailments, EFT addresses emotional issues, which in turn often benefits mental performance and physical issues. The technique can be done anywhere and achieves impressive self-help results.

A positive sweep; Re-activation of your own energy flow
A: Activate
With the fingertips of 2 hands going over all your head (the area of the scalp) like light drumming.
This action is activating your energy meridian circuit and switching your fingertips on, preparing to sweep ‘bad’ or stagnant energy out of your nervous system.
B: Breathe.
Let your breath flow, let it sound like you are fast asleep.
C: Connect
You might want to think of a soothing word or small phrase if breathing consciously is first not so familiar.

The secret
Going deeper into the process
At more advanced levels, EFT works by activating an old emotional disturbance intentionally, provoking it to show itself by thinking about a painful memory or just meeting your feelings in a held space with a practitioner.
While the energy disturbance is activated, you tap with your fingertips on a set of easily learned acupuncture points and breathe in order to clear out the energy disturbance in the affected meridians, removing the triggers.
