This certified 40-hour Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra training will focus on learning the art of relaxation, and using supported postures that facilitate the passive release of tension stored in the body, and by what means to elicit the Relaxation Response.

Expect a well-rounded and robust exploration of Restorative Yoga Postures and their variations, alternatives, cues and considerations, prop set-ups, alignment, adaptations, timings and transitions, touch adjustments, methodology of pranayama and the physiology of relaxation.

The training runs over 4 days and includes reading research and assignments.

Research has shown that relaxation and rest are essential to everyone.

Whether your intention is to deepen your personal understanding of restorative practices,  offer it to family/friends, or teach and share this healing practice, there will be comprehensive coverage of both the theoretical and practical application of Restorative Yoga in this module.

Alison first learned Yoga Nidra in Rishikesh, India and fell in love with the practice. Her Nidra journey has included studies of traditional Nidra Techniques as well as the iRest programme developed by Richard Millar.

Her aim is to provide you with the skills needed to create an atmosphere that encourages students to let go of mental stress and fill you with a love for teaching this advanced practice to heal, restore, and rejuvenate.

Alison teaches both Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra on a weekly basis as well as offering relaxation retreats in Europe and India.

In addition, she has worked with the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre in Drogheda, Co Louth for several years where the benefits of Nidra are seen first-hand by the clients.
