Yoga teacher development, also known as CPD (Continuous Professional Development), CE (Continuing Education), or further training, is an event dedicated to improving the skills of yoga teachers. This help article will teach you everything you need to know about these events.
What Counts As 'CPD Hours'?
Any development event that is specifically for yoga teachers can count towards CPD hours/points. The event does not need to be registered with us to be recognised in our career path model.
YAP members can accumulate any additional training hours after their 200-hour course to go towards their career path level upgrades.
Typically, 1 hour = 1 CPD
Does Online Training Count?
Yes, you can include any further training done online in your further training hours.
Your further training hours account for up to 30% of your total teaching hours to upgrade your membership level.
We recommend you attend as much in-person/live-streamed training as possible; in our experience, this is where you will find the most value.
What Is The Annual CPD Requirement?
There are no annual CPD requirements for Yoga Alliance Professionals memberships. However, teachers are encouraged to take development opportunities whenever they can.
Updating Your Profile To Reflect Your Training
You can update your profile in a number of ways to reflect the additional training you have done:
Submit Your Certificate (if registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals)
If you completed an accredited further training or specialist training course, you may be eligible for a course badge. This badge is displayed on your profile to showcase your completion of an accredited course. Here is the link to submit your certificate to us.
Display Your Certificate
You can create a photo album and upload all of your certificates for public viewing. Instructions can be found here.
Amend Your Training Hours
These hours go towards your membership level upgrades on the career path. Here are the instructions.
Update Your Account Details On Profile
On your dashboard, you have access to 'account details'. You will find a section for you to input your additional training. Here is the link.
