Overview

I have always been a free-thinker; unstoppable, full of ideas, with dreams of sailing the world in search of adventures.

Sometimes, it feels like you can lose your own sense of identity through life. I began to regain myself, the day I started to practice yoga in 1999 and have embraced it.  Forever learning, growing and forever young (at least at heart).  My journey has been one of wonder, filled with new discoveries into my body, mind and spirit.

The first class I ever attended was in the Iyengar Method.  At that time, I was doing a very stressful job working 12 hours shift, night and day. My body felt cramped and shrivelled up. My mind tired and confused, full of nonsensical thoughts that I couldn’t stop. My mood was very unstable and I could barely sleep.

l remember that the teacher kept us in Tadasana (Mountain pose), as I breathed in and out through the nose. A new world began to reveal itself to me, awakening my body and opening my mind.               “Is this it? Is this yoga?”                                                                                                                                          I asked myself perplexed and astonished. I felt like someone who has taken a trip and found the journey a little disappointing. But, I carried on through the whole lesson, exploring the first clumsy poses with the help of belts, bricks and various props. I was intrigued and had a willingness to understand more, whilst leaving the class completely relaxed, focused and charged me with vitality.

When I first moved to London, in 2000, I started to practice Ashtanga and I fell in love with it almost immediately: the sweat and the intensity of the practice made my mind still, whilst cleansing the body.

But life goes on and my body clock ticked.  Yet again yoga helped me to focus on my baby's heartbeat and into my breathing: to stay healthy, in shape, but also happy and positive within my morphing body. Yoga helped to ease and smooth the pain of the delivery and I would strongly recommend a pregnancy yoga course to all expectant mothers.

I established my own routine at home, attending classes when possible. We all know how it is. So difficult to commit yourself in anything else then the children.  But that half an hour for me, grew indispensable and so my thirst of knowing and going deeper into the subject of the matter: the philosophy behind the yoga practice.

That’s why I decided to invest my time into the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course, from where I gained confidence and enthusiasm. Then, in the summer of 2014 I qualified as Yoga Teacher with Laxmi Yoga.

I am dedicated to the study of yoga: practising, enjoying it and experiencing its multi benefits.  Including better posture and pain free bonds, agility, vitality, mental clearness, serenity and strength of character to cite some.  I feel blessed and honoured to be where I am now and grateful that yoga showed up in my life. When life is tough I curl up in Balasana and breathe to find my balance and I usually re gain it.

Since then, I have continued to deep further my knowledge and practice following few workshops:

2016: Raja Yoga at the Sivananda Vedanta Center of Putney

2015: Kundalini yoga with Siri Atma

2015: Inversion with Jivamukti London

2014: Acro yoga with Cat Duval

2014: Firefly position with BWY

2014: Gong and Meditation with Siri Atma

2013: Inversion with BWY

I am now sailing into my next adventure and I am currently studying toward 500hs YTT.

My wish is to empower people with the teaching of this amazing discipline that is yoga.  To bring joy and relief into the everyday routine: to make you feel amazing in your body, mind and soul. However, all my students are also my teachers too: each of you have something for me to learn too.

My promise: yoga will get you!
