We will be learning essential tools for not only Yoga instructors but also Massage Therapists, Physical Therapists & Personal Trainers or if you are interested in deepening your connection to your practice. Students of Yoga rely on guidance to improve and influence their practice and focus. A teacher or assistant must employ various techniques to better communicate with a variety of learners and physical abilities to achieve a deeper understanding of some of the physical aspects of Yoga.
This is a 20hr specialist course designed to introduce some basic principles to create a relationship between assistant and student. We will look at using various adjustment techniques in asana practice, development of dialogue, charisma and develop valuable teaching skills.
The morning Forrest Yoga sessions will look at techniques for problem-solving various injuries; sequencing exploration; partner work and to warm up safely for the poses that will be worked on during the rest of the day.
This module is for Individuals looking to integrate into the classroom to offer assistance to students and the teacher; teachers looking to learn how to assist in different ways; personal trainers, students either enrolled in teacher training or considering applying to TT; or to massage students looking for a different hands-on learning experience; and also to students looking to develop their practice and knowledge.
Students will be working from a specially printed, 70 page, colour manual to take notes but are encouraged to video & image in the course to retain the information correctly.
Essential Anatomy for Yoga Teachers
In the Forrest Yoga system, we use very intentional anatomical cueing when teaching and adjusting and this workshop will give a better understanding of the location of the primary structural muscles and how they relate to your yoga practice. The aim is to give participants a sound theoretical understanding of physical movement.
