Christmas Prayer Workshop – December 13th, 20th, 27th 2020 and the 10th January 2021
Prayer can bring solace, stillness, faith, presence, relief, succour, comfort and much much more. It can bind us together and asks us to belong
Prayer comes into yoga, it does. Prayers to Shiva, Ganesh, Guru Ram Dass and many others in the arcana of Sikh & Hindu mantras. It does not seem to enter in any other form and it is time that prayer and gratitude take their rightful place in the architecture of yoga as much as they do in religion and other forms of worship.
Over the course of this workshop we will use the different types of prayer below to explore your relationship with asking, listening and making demands of an internal or external being that you might connect or believe in.
Have you ever sat there, over and over, rocking on the floor, endlessly repeating a prayer, desperately hoping that there is a way through? That there is a port, some kind of safety?
We will, in each module, play with a different type of prayer:
Asking: The Lord’s Prayer contains eleven exhortations, demands. And the Hail Mary is also a prayer that asks. And equally an asking prayer can be one where you are in dialogue with your version of the Divine.
Gratitude: To be grateful, to express this gratitude in many different ways. How does gratitude differ from asking….
Affirmation: To embody Divinity, to be Divine, to affirm, and from there, to generate. How is this another space, again.
Emanating: Emanation is to beam, to broadcast, to radiate! How Divine, to sit, stand or lie and become a radiant beacon of light, love, acceptance! To communicate directly with the Universal energy in an ever expanding field of acceptance.
3rd Eye Praying: The 3rd eye is the seat of the Pineal gland. This gland is said to have properties beyond the realms of human knowing. Here we play directly with the Kundalini energy.
Etheric Prayer: The etheric realms are where you can journey through the wonderlands of your own consciousness, the microcosm, if you will, of the macrocosm.
Each module will be 2 hours via Zoom. £180 with tools included. 5-7pm UK time.
Once you sign up you will be sent an altar, incense, charcoal, some herbs and sufficient ceremonial cacao for 2 doses, with usage instructions for the kit.
