Workshop’s intention |

This 2-hour workshop aims at providing you with the yogic toolkit, for living your life with a healthier perspective, with less stress and anxiety and more balance and harmony. You will learn, experience and take home short and effective practices of yogic postures, breathing, meditation and relaxation. So that the seeds planted during the workshop can grow into strong roots.

Set up of the workshop |

During these 2 hours on a Saturday morning at Iriness Yoga Horsham:

  • You will be guided through simple and invigorating sequences of yoga postures to release stagnant energies in your body.
  • You will practise powerful  yogic breathing techniques (pranayama) and you will understand the reasons behind these practises. They will enable you to breathe deeper, expel maximum amounts of carbon dioxide and toxins and take in maximum amounts of oxygen, learning to distribute it evenly throughout the entire body. Pranayama is designed to help you remove blockages that impinge on your vitality.
  • You will also learn basic meditation for quieting the mind and potentially diving into a deeper layer of yourself. Yogic meditation aims at stilling the fluctuation of the mind or reducing the density of our thinking process in order to realise our true nature, which spans far beyond our desires and aversions, or far beyond our dualistic material existence of body-mind phenomenon.
  • At the end of the session, you will relax into Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep), guided into the greatness of the deep relaxation into your own heart, – the space of love, kindness and effortless stillness.

It is important for us that your experience during this workshop can be assimilated to grow roots within you. So that the sense of less dense mind activity, balance and overall wellbeing can become an inherent part of your life. We are happy to offer you to take back home:


    • A graphical and written version of the practices we’ll explore together.
    • A recording of the Yoga Nidra, or yogic relaxation sleep, done by our teacher Irina.

Who is this workshop for?

If you feel that you would benefit from living more joyful, fulfilling and less stressful life, – this could be a great 2 hours of experiential learning you can replicate later at home. There are no prerequisites for this workshop. All postural and breathing practices are adapted to complete beginners levels. Come as you are, learn, enjoy and take home the practises you’ll be guided into.

Teacher |

The session will be led by Irina Pashkevich Bourdier, the founder of Iriness and Senior Yoga Teacher. Irina was an international corporate executive during 25 years, living in the world of high stress, competition and global travel. Irina’s personal search for inner peace and wellbeing led her to yoga in her twenties. And since then, Irina’s perceptions and attitudes have changed dramatically; anxiety levels have reduced significantly, inspiring her to build the Iriness Yoga & Wellbeing Horsham studio to share the amazing tools of yoga with the local community for more a joyful, meaningful and healthy living.
