80-Hr Trauma-Informed Yoga & Embodied Resilience Teacher Training + Mentoring called Trauma Resilience Embodied Yoga (TREY) & Social Impact Teacher Training 

12-week online trauma-informed yoga and embodied resilience teacher training and mentoring programme 

At the completion of this training: 80-hour Further Training Course accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals – upon completion you will be able to call yourself Trauma-informed Yoga Teacher and Trauma Resilience Embodied Yoga (TREY) Teacher.


The overall aim of the course:

  • To up-level skill and understanding of trauma and embodied resilience 
  • Learn practical skills and tools for teaching in trauma-informed, mindful embodied way to help students experience real transformation 
  • Understand in practical terms how trauma works – Stress Response, Impact on the brain, Polyvagal Theory, PTSD and disassociation, Attachment theory
  • Learn to use needs and risk assessments
  • Use research and how it supports use of yoga, mindfulness and embodiment practices in working with trauma 
  • Learn to create a stable and safe practice space for your students using embodiment practices including Focusing (embodied listening)
  • Learn to assess students’ behavior and presentation to work in client-led way
  • Learn the language used for working with trauma
  • Create your own 6-8 week programme for your community using trauma awareness and safe embodiment tools and practices: mindful embodied yoga, mindfulness, compassionate practices, pranayama, somatic and embodiment practices, and Focusing (Embodied Listening).

 

This training brings together 5 parts:

  1. Understanding trauma and trauma-informed yoga approach 
  2. Understanding of working with focus on Embodied resilience 
  3. Foundations of Focusing (embodied listening)
  4. TREY and trauma-informed yoga and somatic movement practices 
  5. Social impact – becoming embodied leaders + programme creation 


At the end of the course participants will have:

  1. Up-leveled their understanding of trauma including their own experience 
  2. Learnt how to use asana, pranayama, mindfulness, compassion and embodiment practices and tools to create a safe environment for their students 
  3. Learned how to take care of themselves when working with students experiencing trauma and trauma symptoms like stress, anxiety, overwhelm and disassociation
  4. Gone through a personal journey - practiced embodiment to self-regulate, reflected on their own journey and grown as a practitioner and a yoga teacher

 

Entry requirements: 

This course is for qualified yoga teachers who want to up-level their practical skills and learn online in a small group environment about trauma-informed yoga and trauma symptoms awareness, with focus on embodied resilience, and be mentored in creating their own 6/8-week trauma-informed yoga programme.
