Overview

Heartfulyogaah......

I have practiced yoga on and off for most of my life and at almost 50 something clicked and I began to recognise the more subtle benefits of yoga. Over the years I have become more aware of the importance of being, belonging and wellbeing for teachers, children and parents. I teach yoga and mindfulness to adults and small children, scroll to see more and contact me for a chat.

Training

I trained as a yoga teacher with Collins and Barth in 2020 and completed an MSc in Mindfulness with the University of Aberdeen in 2022. I have trained with the Mindfulness Association as a teacher and with the Mindfuless in School Project (MiSP) to develop mindulness with very young children. During the covid pandemic I studied and practiced with Poepsa Frank Jude Boccio author of Mindfulness Yoga and in 2023 I completed a 200hr teacher training in Zen Yoga with Julian Daizan Skinner. I have also trained as a Laughter Yoga teacher and participated in may workshops and events.

Mindful Yoga Classes

I hope to help you to take a step back from the strains of work and the demands of achievement to a place where you can experience the joy of just being here. My teaching focuses on bringing mind, body and breath together to support the development of calm, clarity, being and belonging and I hope that you leave feeling capable, nourished and with a sense of ease.

I teach locally at :

Yoga at the Reach, Blenheim Place, off Eccleshall Road, Sheffield S11 and at

Sheffield Hallam University Movement Studio on the Collegiate Campus at Broomhill, Sheffield S10

Laughter Yogaaahhh...

I lead laughter yoga sessions for staff training, corporate wellbeing sessions and at festivals and community events and charities.

Schools and Nurseries

My training courses introduce a mindful pedagogy, using yoga and mindfulness practices to develop authentic relationships with children and their parents. Many of us are tethered to technology, we can explain the operating system of our devices but are not in touch with the feelings, sensations and movements of our own bodies. Mindful yoga might offer a reconnect  as authentic, embodied practice supports the development of self-regulation, prosocial skills, compassion, kindness and much more.

This is a work in progress for me and I am delighted to have the opportunity to share my practice with you.

Contact me through social media or heartfulyogaah@gmail.com for more information, quotes and to arrange a class or meeting.

Mindfulness in the Early Years

I trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) to deliver their program for children aged 3-6 years, it's called dots and includes a range of ideas, activities and experiences to help children find ease, calm and a sense of being. This supports the development of self-regulation, pro-social skills, self compassion and awareness. With a little practice and familiarity this and helps children to make choices and develop a sense of being calm and alert, which is a precursor to thinking and learning.
