Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC)
Free taster session – Wednesday Sept 1st at 6pm
Perhaps you have meditated in the past, practiced yoga, or used an app on your phone. Whether you are a complete beginner or wanting to develop a personal practice the
MBLC course, developed by the Mindfulness Association, offers a well researched, practiced and supported schedule.
We are continually distracted by technology, busy lives, families, the needs of others and the stress of modern life. Mindfulness begins with learning to allow our thoughts to
come and go without getting so caught up in them and doing this with acceptance. When we allow our thoughts to come and go we learn that the mind finds it’s natural ability to settle. Practising Mindfulness has been shown to help people to feel generally more content in life and to develop a kinder and more caring attitude towards others and towards themselves. Mindfulness is a skill that can be learned, and it involves recognising how the brain works and training it, becoming more accepting, embodied and present.
Each session consists of explanation, guided practices and group reflection and inquiry. Also included are handbook, notes and guided meditation audio downloads.
MBLC is recognised by the UK Network of Mindfulness Teaching and meets the Good Practice Guidelines. You can see more about MBLC and research to support this here: http://mindfulnessassociation.net/MBLCResearch.aspx
