Overview

Hi I'm Amanda, based near Liverpool, in Wallasey n the Wirral. My aim is to help bring the stillness and healing into people's lives in order to overcome challenges and find the balance that is so often missing. My own personal challenges and life experience combined with an extensive range of qualifications ensure that you are in safe hands with someone who can empathise and provide friendly, down to earth support in ways that can truly change lives.

I am a Yoga Teacher with a PhD in Metaphysical Science and over 800 hours of Yoga Alliance teacher training including Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa, Yin and Aerial yoga, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Acu-Yin, Goddess Vinyasa Flow, Chakra Yin and Yin Flow, I chose to specialise in Yin yoga due to its powerful healing benefits and have completed an advanced yin yoga teacher training course, and also Yoga For Trauma Recovery.

I am also a Certified Holistic Life Coach & Spiritual Counsellor, which is woven into my unique style of teaching.

Being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome back in 2006, then complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, along with depression and anxiety left me unable to function which led me down the holistic route to get my life back; this fuelled my passion for health and wellbeing, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. Yin yoga was the missing piece of the jigsaw! 

Yin yoga is a meditative practice, inviting us to enter the space of stillness; based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it restores and balances the energy flow throughout the body through the meridian system. (Invisible energy channels/pathways.) Stagnant energy and blockages are the precursor to illnesses.

Yin yoga works on a deeper level into the connective tissues and organs, lubricating the body, releasing toxins and negative emotions and calms the nervous system to facilitate healing and peace within.

The combination of mind and body practices are vital for a balanced approach to physical and mental health; my Yin yoga sequences are aimed to assist the healing process and release stored emotions that are no longer serving us, in a friendly, down to earth and caring manner. I offer on-going support to help people make lasting changes in their lives.

We cannot have a healthy body without a healthy mind. That is a scientific fact.

    Yin Yoga & Mindfulness courses

    I mainly do HIIT/cardio. I tried yoga years ago & never stuck to it as I felt it just wasn’t for me. I thought about trying yoga again as I wanted to rediscover myself and try & be in the moment rather than rushing around. I’ve known Mandy for 30 years and heard about her yin yoga. I lost my mum a couple of years ago she encouraged me to come try her classes to see if I could reconnect with myself and enable me to understand my feelings and emotions without allowing them to define me, through meditation. Since going to yin yoga I can honestly say I’m feeling more in control of my everyday life, learning to appreciate my life, family & friends and really take time to be in the moment. This has only been done with her guidance, advice and passion for what she does really shows through and I couldn’t be happier that she does this with a smile on her face always. She is the best around and I really feel lucky to be one of her enthusiastic students.Thank you for being you

    Yin yoga classes (2nd course of 6)

    Absolutely love amanda and her yin yoga. Would strongly recommend to anybody. Have felt a big change in my life since I started her classes and am able to take her teachings with me and practice at home to continue the wonderfull calm and peace.

    I have completed 2 yin yoga courses along with a 2 hour session with Amanda. I can’t recommend them enough. They are so uplifting and my favourite part of the week. Eagly awaiting my next course to start on Friday

As a person that is never still and with a mind that races I have found great benefit from this technique. Amanda is a patient, well-informed teacher who takes time and care to make sure her students get the most out of each session.
