Overview

My yoga journey began with antenatal classes when I fell pregnant with my first child in 2004.  It helped me cope with pregnancy, prepare for labour and to this day helps with the stresses of bringing up a young family!

Since then I've developing my own yoga practice until in 2013 I made a big career leap and become a personal trainer.  I found myself coming back to yoga, this time with my own clients, and started practicing more vinyasa yoga with the lovely Nikki Austin (AKA The Yoga Ewok).  Finally, after a year of indecision I took the plunge and completed my 200-hour teacher training in hatha flow yoga with Esther Ekhart and her amazing group of co-teachers from Ekhart Yoga.  My learning continues and I try to attend training each year.  Most recently in Yin as well as spending a week on a mindful meditation retreat with Esther Ekhart.

My classes are usually quite dynamic but down to earth and accepting of individual limitations.  My classes focus on helping students get the most out of the body they've got - improving strength, flexibility, coordination, balance as well as providing some space and time to unwind.  I love meeting new people and building friendships with students.  I am thrilled when students begin to see the different benefits yoga brings and feel very privileged to be able to share this with students.

    Weekly Dynamic Yoga classes

Jo's classes are a great start to my week! I enjoy the structure of the classes and Jo always give lots of options for different levels within the class. I quite enjoy challenging myself during the classes and Jo is good at being able to offer more advanced postures and progression week by week. The weekly classes also follow various themes which gives classes continuity week by week. Jo had also just started doing yoga workshops which I look forward to attending! She is approachable, friendly and professional and I really enjoy doing yoga with Jo!

    Yoga programme

Jo is a brilliant yoga teacher. She has natural timing - her classes flow beautifully (not too slow, not too fast) - and she plans the session so that each is different and builds on the last. She is enormously dedicated, always wanting to learn and apply new things which is demonstrated by a holistic approach to client support. Yes, a brilliant teacher!

    Hatha Flow Class

I've attended Jo's classes for some time and enjoy the fact that her approach is very low key but at the same time always professional. Jo is able to teach a range of abilities and I find I'm challenged despite there being others in the class who haven't not done much yoga before. Her style is friendly, energetic and motivating. She seems to be able to support everyone in the class and I always feel well cared for.

    Gentle hatha flow

I attended Jo's class and I found it to be a very useful experience for a first time student. Very considerate to a beginner.
