Overview

I teach yoga, mindfulness and meditation privately, at studios, and at the work place around London at a senior level, and am also involved in training new teachers.

My flowing vinyasa yoga classes explore ever changing, imaginative, challenging and fun sequences. They are set in a welcoming and inclusive space weaving in yoga philosophy and pranayama. Connection to the breath, attention to alignment, and encouragement to develop clarity and awareness off the mat are integral to my teaching.

In my private sessions I create bespoke sequences tailored to my clients’ needs, whether exploring some challenging asanas, guiding restorative sessions, practicing mindfulness or working with injury or illness.

I’ve been practicing Vipassana (Insight) meditation since 2003 – a Buddhist approach to meditation based on the Theravada lineage, but universally valid independent of any religious believes. Developing mindful awareness and a calm abiding in the present moment are central to the practice. I attend 3 weeks of silent retreat every year with my teachers at Amaravati Monastery in Hertfordshire and Burgs in Wales, and am also influenced by the teachings of S.N. Goenka, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.

I teach mindfulness and self-compassion in regular meditation classes, dedicated courses over 4-8 weeks, and privately across London. My emphasis is on deepening self awareness and understanding of our internal psychology - our patterns of behaviour and how they influence our lives. I encourage the cultivation of an open, non-judgemental and kind relationship to ourselves, so that over time our lives can be infused with more acceptance, patience and contentment. My teaching is inclusive, and infused by warmth, care and humour.

Every year I lead several yoga and mindfulness retreats in the UK and abroad.

I have been teaching since 2009. I trained with Yogacampus and in my ongoing advanced training I’m mainly influenced by Richard Freeman, Doug Keller and Rod Stryker. I have trained in yin yoga and mindfulness with Sarah Powers, and mindfulness and self-compassion with Karen Atkinson at MindfulnessUK.

I hold accreditation by the British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Alliance and the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.
